Thanks for reaching out here in the Community, Kerry. I'll share details about the different amount columns of a report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, the Amount column is the amount column of a sales transaction and will also show the exact amount from the Net Amount column. Thus, it doesn't add up the VAT Amounts of the transactions.

I recognize the convenience of viewing the totals for each sale with its VAT amount. Having this as an option would be nice, as it will help you run your business seamlessly. That said, I recommend sending your thoughts to our developers. Ideas like this help identify the features our customers want the most for consideration in future enhancements.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your feedback and product suggestions.
  4. Click Next to submit them.

Additionally, you can check out this article to learn more about how to focus on the details that matter most when you pull up reports in QBO: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you still have questions or concerns about managing your reports in QBO. I'll be here to lend a helping hand. Have a great day ahead!
