How can I change FRS 12.5% to new reduction rates 4.5% in the middle of month (ie. from 15.07.20)?

Hey there, paul150.

For the hospitality reduction If you're on MTD, we recommend using the Bridging Software in order to file your FRS VAT returns during the accounting periods that are subject to a change in VAT rate.

To do this, you'll need to deselect the FRS box in your VAT settings for the accounting period that 15/7/20 falls within. You will also need to perform a manual calculation outside of QuickBooks to determine what you enter on your return.

E.g. if you file VAT quarterly turn off FRS for the period starting 1/7/20 and use the Bridging Software to submit this quarter to HMRC.

You can then turn FRS back on for the period 1/9/20 - 12/31/20, applying the reduced VAT rate to the entire quarter.

Since the reduced rate for FRS ends on 17/1/20, this quarter will need to be filed using Bridging Software again.
