Hi there, @keith-johnson11.

It's nice to see you here in the Community. I'll provide some information on how you can fix the vat payment you've made in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You'll have to delete the VAT payment from the Taxes menu. If you had manually recorded the VAT payment, you can delete one through the Payments section from the Taxes menu. Here's how:

If you manually recorded the VAT payment, you can delete it through the Payments section of the Taxes menu. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu, then select the VAT tab.
  2. Select the Payments tab.
  3. Find the payment you want to delete, then click the drop-down arrow under the Action column and choose Delete.
  4. Choose Yes to confirm.

After that, the transaction will now appear in the Returns section. From there, re-enter the refund using the correct payment method. From there, you can recreate the VAT payment correctly.

  1. Choose the transaction, then tap on Record payment under Action.
  2. Fill in the accurate information including the date and amount.
  3. Add a memo if needed.
  4. Tap on Save.
