How do I file a vat return

It's not possible to file a VAT return using QuickBooks Self-Employed, as this software doesn't manage VAT. If you're needing this feature, you may wish to consider switching to QuickBooks Online, where you can set up QuickBooks for Making Tax Digital. This feature is supported in all of our Online plans (Simple Start, Essentials and Plus) at no additional cost to the standard subscription price.
