How do I mark VAT return as filed, we cannot use making tax digital so have to do returns manually.

Hello Debbie81, 

 

Welcome to the Community page, 

 

To mark a VAT period as filed in Quickbooks, if you go the taxes tab>click on prepare returns under action on the open period> there is a drop-down arrow next to submit to HMRC, click drop-down arrow> click on mark as files. This will then open the next return for you. 

 

To mark a VAT period has filed mtd needs to be off to do this.
