How do I show that an old Vat return has been submitted?

I have a solution that can assist in displaying your submitted VAT return on the VAT menu.

All VAT returns that have been submitted or filed in QuickBooks should show in the VAT menu. If you are unable to see your submitted return, we can start by reviewing the status of each return to determine if the VAT return's status has been updated. 

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Sign-in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
2. Click Taxes from the left menu, then select VAT.
3. In the Returns tab, choose the Open, Filed, or Paid status from the drop-down.
4. Then, review each status and locate the return.

If you still cannot find your submitted VAT return, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. It can resolve any data issues that may be causing QuickBooks to behave unexpectedly. Clearing the cache will allow the system to start fresh.
