I have migrated my bookkeeping data from another software to QuickBooks online. I want to mark my older VAT returns in Auickbooks as filed. I am not able to see these VAT returns on my Taxes tab. Please suggest jhow to generate these older returns on Qb online and how to mark them as filed

I can help with this one, superrecords.

You can change the effective date of your VAT settings to generate the returns. Before diving in, please make sure to import or manually record all the transactions covered by the VAT returns.

When you're ready, follow these steps to pull up and mark the returns as filed:

  1. Select Taxes from the sidebar menu, then go to the VAT tab.
  2. Click the Edit VAT button, then choose Edit settings
  3. Change the Effective date for the new scheme to the date you filed the return.
  4. Hit Save
  5. Under the Returns section, the reports will then show up.
  6. Choose the appropriate return, then select Prepare return from the drop-down arrow.
  7. Review the date and amounts.
  8. Click on the drop-down arrow beside Submit to HMRC, then select Mark as Filed.

Additionally, if you want to use the Online Submission feature for your future returns, you can follow the steps in this article for guidance.
