I can't see the "outside scope" VAT code as an option? I have provided services to Oman which is outside the scope of VAT but can't see the code as an option?

Welcome to the Community. I can help you add the VAT code in QuickBooks Online.

When you set up or use the VAT feature, some codes (including Out of Scope) are added to your account automatically. The Out of Scope option can be found under the VAT column when adding products and services to an invoice or sales receipt it will be called NO VAT

No VAT - Out of scope of VAT

No VAT is charged on goods or services that are exempt from VAT or are outside the scope of the UK VAT system. These transactions will not appear on your VAT returns. 

Here's how:

1. Click the + New option in the upper-right corner.
2. Select Invoice or Sales receipt.
3. Add the customer.
4. Enter the services as line items.
5. Below the VAT column, add the NO VAT code

In case the option is unavailable in the dropdown, the browser's stored cache may be full. It can cause unusual behavior in QuickBooks, such as being unable to add a specific code.

I'd first recommend accessing your account using a private browser. It doesn't store data in the cache. Thus, it's a great way to isolate browser-related issues. Please attempt to add the code again. If it works, let's clear your browser's cache to have a clean slate, so it'll function efficiently.
