I have spoken to QB who have told me the usual clear history etc, it still isn't working. My accountant is able to log in as me and access the VAT tab. Does anybody have any ideas what I can do? It's causing problems.

Thanks for coming here, emmahyder.

Behavior in QuickBooks Online (QBO) like the constant green circle appearing when accessing the VAT tab can often because of large cache files pilled up on your browser.

Since clearing the browser's cache didn't work, you can try logging in to QBO using a private browser or incognito window. This is a better place to isolate since this type of browser doesn't store cache.

Kindly use either of the following shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If it does the same thing, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support. I understand that you've already contacted them. However, this issue requires a deeper investigation which our chat support can look into.

The instructions are outlined below:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Type in your concern.
  3. Choose Live chat.
