Question

I have recently purchased a company van (including VAT) and need to know what catergory I should be logging this under on QB online? Nothing seems to match under assets?

I am at banking transactions and only have the option of expense or cheque? There is not specific category for vehicle purchase only equipment leasing or purchase-1 and neither of these fall under assets? the van was paid for outright so not leased? any advice?

Welcome to the Community page, 

 

So you could put it against Tangible Assets/Vehicles but if you are not sure then we would advise you speak to a trained and qualified accountant who will be able to assist you more with it. 

 

Accounting>chart of accounts> new>account type- Tangible assets> Detail type- Vehicles> name - call it what you would like for example Vehicles.> Save and close then when creating an expense for example you can select that category to pout it against.
