Question

I need Quickbooks to add my VAT details to their invoices to me. I cannot reclaim VAT if my VAT details are not added. How do I get quickbooks to add this?

NOT adding my vat details to MY invoices.
I spent over an hour to customer service, and as usual, they were useless.  Just cut and pasted irrelevant information about adding my vat info to the invoices I send to my customers.

Hi Duilleog, thanks for your post - we don't include customer VAT details on subscription billing invoices, the only VAT information that will appear here is the VAT breakdown of charges.

Hi @zac-zenzyc-io

Sorry but you're not going to get this by asking customer services.

Intuit/QBOs system must generate thousands (tens of thousands) of subscription invoices per month - they have no way of altering just yours.

Possible workaround.

Amend your address in https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/accountsettings?p=qbo_selfservice_company (when logged in) to include your VAT number.

Then check if that feeds through to your invoices in https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/paymenthistory

Hope this helps.

Of course you can claim VAT back if their invoice doesn’t have your VAT number on. As long as it has a VAT line, which they do you are fine. Think about all the other receipts you claim VAT back on which don’t have your VAT number on? I really wouldn’t worry about. The VAT man won’t be crying over it.

I made the assumption that the OP was outside the UK & hoping to reclaim the VAT from HMRC - maybe I was over-thinking it?
