I'll help with your question about editing products in QuickBooks Online, mandragula.

For now, the Batch Action feature for inventory items only include making them inactive, adjusting quantity on hand, reordering, and making them into non-inventories or service items. In the meantime, you'll need to open each item and make your changes one at a time.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Products and Services.
  2. Select a product or service that you want to edit, then click Edit under the Action column.
  3. Go to the VAT code section and make your changes.
  4. Click Save and close afterwards.

Let me share these articles about managing products and services for more details:

thank you for your response.

The work around I was trying is to download the products onto a spreadsheet, edit the spreadsheet and then upload it again. However there is not an option to 'update existing products with the same sku' the file will not upload because the products already exist in QBO. I tried to make products in QBO inactive but the new products with the same name did not 'replace' the previous products so all the previous sales data on the products was lost. I can see that it is not possible at the moment to do this but if there was a button when importing a spreadsheet that can be ticked to say 'update existing products with the same sku' then that would be extremely useful - is it possible to put this idea forward?

We are unable to delete any List data or modify it in bulk. We have yet to find any workaround to solve this issue.

@mandragula

QBO has a limited feature for inventory management. Once you manage more than 100 products, consider having an inventory management app.

thank you, I didn't know such a thing existed. Do you have an app recommendation?

Intuit has acquired one inventory management app as part of the family recently.

You may compare it with another app
