If possible, I'd like to remove a currency, but I've used it in the past with some expenses.  Do I have to go to all records from previous years and redo/delete them or is there a way to remove the currency as of a certain date/year.  Also, what is the best way to filter the expenses to see only the ones in that currency?

Hello Strawberryhf, Thanks for posting on the Community page, Im afraid currencies can't be turned off/deleted on the settings.  (There's a warning on that the first time they turned it on). You would have to delete those transactions individually but that would affect the figures on your previous reports.

Thank you.  I probably got that message many years ago but did not realize it would cost me double the amount.  We convert everything to our regular currency so we don't need the other currency anymore.   Any idea how to quickly filter out all entries on the other currency?  I could delete them and enter matching ones so the books stay similar....

We can filter a report or account, @strawberry. I've got instructions to delete your entries in the other currency in QuickBooks Online.

We're unable to turn off the Multicurrency feature once it's enabled. As my colleague mentioned above, deleting a currency with transactions linked to it is also unavailable.

Let's go to your Chart of Accounts and select the bank account you used to record the entries. From there, personalise it to get the data you need.

Here's how:

  1. Open the bank account and select the Customise button.
  2. Navigate to Rows/Columns.
  3. Tick the Currency checkbox to add it to the report.
  4. Press Run report button.

I've added some snippets below for your reference:

Once done, you can manually select the transactions to delete them. Before doing so, I highly recommend consulting an accountant if you've already reconciled these transactions. This way, we can ensure your books will not be messed up.

In case you'd like to add an account that uses a foreign currency, see this guide: Turn on and use multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.

I've added these links to learn more about recording expenses and handling bills in the program:

Please let me know if I can be of additional assistance in removing a currency. I'm only a post away. Keep safe.
