Question

Making Tax Digital screen is not showing the last VAT quarter which is now due to be submitted (it does show the 3 before so I have logged in successfully)

I have signed up to Making Tax Digital (QB won't let me submit the old way - I get an error email from HMRC).  But it's not showing the quarter to end of May 2019 on the MTD screen - just the last three submitted ones.  When I've submitted VAT returns for other companies the correct quarter has been on the screen and it's just a case of hitting the submit button.

Hello sarahdh,

 

To confirm, on the Taxes tab the only returns showing are those that have already been submitted with no open return?

Yes that's correct, the last three submitted returns are there but not the quarter just finished.  I'm trying to submit March-May and I'm concerned that I've signed up for MTD too early and ended up stuck between two systems, but I need to resolve this and get the VAT return completed somehow.

Hello sarahdh,

 

Could you please login to your gateway account with HMRC, and confirm that the quarter ending May 2019 is showing in your due returns section?
