My business VAT number is not appearing on my invoices

Hi

I have just noticed that our company VAT number is not appearing on our invoices.

All the VAT settings are entered and are correct but our invoices do not show the VAT number.

How can I get this number onto the invoices please?

When I go to custom form styles and press edit it shows this (below) but when previewing the invoice the VAT number is not shown.

VAT registration number: XXXXXXXXX
See and edit your VAT number in the VAT centre

Hope someone can help!

Hi

I have used an incognito window to login to QuickBooks and created a test invoice.

The VAT number does not appear when previewing the invoice.

I deleted the test invoice, cleared the cache and cookies then created another test invoice but the VAT number is still missing.

😕😕

I've solved the issue!

Go to the cog wheel, custom form styles, edit the invoice template. In the design section> edit print settings

untick "fit to window envelope".

The VAT number and company numbers reappears!!

I have been advised that QuickBooks engineers will be looking into this and addressing it as there is obviously an error here.

Update:

Whilst looking back through emails sent I have found that the VAT number was showing on invoices up until 3rd November. Since then it has disappeared. I haven't changed any settings since 3rd November so why has the VAT number disappeared?

Hi EmmaV, thanks for posting on the Community

There are no reported issues with missing VAT numbers on invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Do the invoices have a VAT code applied and is the VAT number entered when going to Taxes > Edit VAT > Edit settings?

Hi

Yes the invoices do have a VAT code applied.

The VAT number has been entered when going to Taxes> Edit VAT> Edit Settings

The VAT number appeared on invoices up until last week and nothing has been changed so I don't know what's happened.

Thanks for checking that, EmmaV1. Which template style are you using on the invoice? You can check this by going to the Cog > Custom form styles > Select Edit beside the template you're using > Design > Change up the template.

To check for any browser issues that may be causing this, please try signing into QuickBooks via a different web browser or incognito window to preview the invoice.
