So I think Iv done it the wrong way I set up a employee then did the gateway credentials will my employee hours etc still be submitted to HMRC? How do I get notified too

The employee hours or payroll details will only be sent once you submit the FPS to MHRC. If not, HMRC won't notify the details of your payroll. FPS is needed every pay run.

I suggest setting up FPS so that the HMRC will receive information about your payroll details each time you run payroll. Before that, you'll need to turn on the RTI to enter the HMRC details. This is to make it easier and ensure that an FPS filing is submitted properly.

For additional information and to see the whole process, I'd recommend clicking each article below depends on the payroll you're using:

• Turn on RTI reporting to HMRC in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.
• HMRC Settings in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.

Please note that if this is the first time you submit the FPS, you'll need to turn on the 3rd party online submission on the HMRC website. If you didn't know how to turn it on, you can contact HMRC to assist you further.

On the other hand, QuickBooks automatically confirm once the submission is successful.
