Hello there, badgerthetaxman.

VAT returns that are filed with a negative balance such as refund are automatically marked as paid within the system. To record a refund, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and select VAT.
  2. From the Returns tab, look for the filed return.
  3. Under the ACTION column, click the drop-down arrow and select Record refund.
  4. Enter the VAT refund details and then Save.

If you connected the bank account you used in paying taxes and receiving refunds, you can match it in your bank downloaded transactions.
