Vat

I really dont know what to do now. If someone could shine a light.

I submitted my first digital Vat retun at the begining of June 2020, It got rejected.  QB suggested i speak with HMRC, It was in fact a problem with my HMRC account which has now been rectified. But HMRC have now moved my Vat quarters forward a month..they were March April May, but now moved to April, May, June. so Vat due in a week or so.  My retun that was unsucessfully filed for March, April, May is in my account but locked...It cannot be edited to correct the quarters. I have had three call backs from different QB staff, none of which seem to be able to help. Surely somehow I can delete the return as it has not been filed yet??? or at least get it unlocked so I can edit it to correct the months and figures and submit it when it is due.

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @Buzzer.

I appreciate you providing details for your concern. I know that you already reached out to our Customer Care team. However, since Community is a public platform and we don't have tools to pull up your account. To help you delete the unfiled VAT, I recommend contacting our support team. They need to check the status of the return and they have specific tools to help you delete the VAT return. Also, they can help you to unlock your account to edit and correct the quarters.

Here's how to contact live support:

  1. Navigate to the Help menu.
  2. Select Contact us.
  3. From the description box, enter Edit or delete VAT return.
  4. Click Let's talk.
  5. Choose either Get a callback or Start messaging.

Also, here is a helpful article that you can read through in changing the status of your VAT return from rejected to filed in QuickBooks Online, you may refer to this article link: Change the VAT filing status.

Fill me in if you have other QuickBooks concerns. I'll be around to help you. Stay safe and take care always.

Thank you.

But I have done this three times now, I have spoken to three different people, but no one seems to be able to do anything.  I spoke with someone for a long time this morning who in the end said it was an HMRC problem and I needed to speak to them to get them to change the Obligation dates...the obligation dates are correct in HMRC. They are wrong in Quickbooks, but no one seems to be able to delete the return or correct the dates so I can continue with return.

Hello Buzzer,

So are the filed return dates wrong or is it the open period dates that are showing wrong in Quickbooks?

Or is it both that are showing wrong in Quickbooks?
