VAT return change of date and connecting

Hi and welcome to the Community, @avril1. I'll share a few insights on how you can change your VAT return date.

Are you connected to Making Tax Digital in QuickBooks' taxes section? If so, then what start and end dates do the current open return show, and what are you expecting these to be?

On the other hand, when you select Prepare return on this period, you will have the ability to change the date at the top of the page. With MTD, the dates that HMRC are expecting are pushed through automatically to QuickBooks, and so the dates may have changed because HMRC is expecting a specific date from you. If you are positive this is not the case, change the end date and submit. If not, log into your HMRC account and confirm which dates they are expecting you to submit.
