Hello,

I am due to submit a VAT return (submitted several before).  When I click on VAT all I get is a spinning green wheel that never loads.  I can see figures in the background but nothing happens

Can anyone help?

The wheel is still spinning away.

Managed to log on Chrome and access VAT from there.  Turns out I am no longer connected to HMRC.  Was nice of Quickbooks to warn of this.  Anyway I have followed all the steps to reconnect but Quickbooks won't recognise this and says I am still disconnected.  According to HMRC Quickbooks has authority again.

Please can anyone help?

Might just be me but quickbooks has been an absolute nightmare so far for many things.

I can help you reconnect your QuickBooks to HMRC, @info1552.

Let's start by accessing  your account using a private or incognito browser. There are times that the browser is full of frequently-accessed page resources, thus causing websites, like QuickBooks, to act weirdly. You can use any of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome .
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox  and Microsoft Edge .
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari .

Once logged in, you can try submitting your VAT return via MTD again. If it was successfully sent, you'll need to go back to your regular browser and then clear the cache to delete the accumulated site data and junk files. Alternatively, you can switch to other supported browsers to further isolate the issue.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. One of our specialists can securely access your account and further look into the root cause of the issue you're getting.

I appreciate your patience while we look into this. Let me know how it goes after contacting them. I’m always here to make sure this is taken care of.
