We can modify the status from VAT to No VAT, andrew149. Let me guide you through the process step-by-step.

Here's how:

  1. In the upper right corner, click on the Gear icon.
  2. Under the YOUR COMPANY category, select Account and settings.
  3. Navigate to the Advanced tab.
  4. Within the Accounting section, click on the pencil icon to the right.
  5. From the dropdown menu labeled Default tax rate selection, select No VAT.
  6. Then hit Save to apply the changes.
  7. One complete, click Done, to close the settings window.

We can refer to this article on how set the default VAT status to No VAT and prevent VAT from appearing in future transactions for detailed guidance: Turn off VAT in QuickBooks.

Additionally, to file your VAT return and record your VAT payment in QuickBooks Online, check out this article: File your VAT return and record VAT payments in QuickBooks.
