What else do we need to do, apart from the switch, to change vat reporting from cash basis to accrual?

Welcome to the Community page, 

All you need to do it go to taxes>vat>edit vat>edit settings 

Then mark from cash to accrual/standard and set the correct effective start date for the scheme, this should probably be the VAT registration date.
