Question

Anyone having a problem with QB accessing your bank account to download transactions, now that two factor authentication is on bank acct? It forces me to change password

QB should change the bank connection to an option when the user chooses to download the transactions.  Then I can accept the notification that someone is trying to sign into my bank account and I won't be forced to change my password by my bank.

Hi debbiepieterse,

Welcome to the Community! QuickBooks is a versatile program that enables you to get your work done faster. I'd be happy to share some information on automatic bank account updates in your software.

QuickBooks Online automatically updates your bank accounts. Once you connect your accounts to QuickBooks Online, they are automatically updated in the system. Automatic online banking account updates normally begin around 10 pm PT. If the server is unable to obtain updated information for a particular online account, it attempts the update up to five additional times over the next five hours.

However, these automatic updates are typically done without requiring additional authentication from the user. If you’re receiving notifications from your bank about someone trying to connect and having to reset your password, it’s important to verify this activity. It could be a routine security notification from your bank, but it’s always a good idea to confirm.

If you’re concerned about these notifications, I recommend reaching out to your bank to ensure the security of your account.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to reply below. I'm happy to help.
