Can I legally start a bookkeeping business here in Canada even without a certification from an organization or years or experience?

Hi there and welcome to the QuickBooks Community!

 

I love that you're looking to venture into the world of bookkeeping as a career, and QuickBooks is a great software to become familiar with, and can even help you build clientele. Here in the Community, our team is trained to help support you and other QuickBooks users with the technical aspects of our software, so questions like these are a little outside our wheelhouse. I'd love to point you in the right direction to get the support you need though.

 

We have a great article that goes over the ins and outs of becoming a bookkeeper. I'd suggest giving it a ready through: How to Start a Bookkeeping Business. If you know any other bookkeepers, reaching out to pick their brains might be a great step as well. They'll be able to fill you in on how they got started, and might have some other helpful tips and tricks as well. We have a database of QuickBooks-certified Pro Advisors, some of which are bookkeepers, that may be helpful resources for you. You can navigate through the database to find bookkeepers in your area that may be able to give you a hand.

 

I'll leave this thread in the helpful hands of our dedicated Community contributors. It's vital you have the information you need in order to use your QuickBooks program. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of sales and expenses to be able to see your company's profit. I can point you in the right direction for information about how to use the program.

 

In order to view videos to help you learn about certain features of QuickBooks Online, you can view the tutorials in the link provided below. You can also view webinars which are courses for broader subjects. You can sign up for them using the other link I've posted.

If there aren't any tutorials about the subject wanted, there may be some articles on the Community or threads that relate to questions you may have. You can use the search bar to use find related posts and articles to the keywords entered. You can also ask your own question on the Community, where some users such as yourself or members of the QuickBooks Team can assist in getting you back to managing your business.
