How do I upgrade my Quickbooks Desktop 2017 Premier Contractor Edition to the 2018 version??

I currently have Quickbooks Desktop Premier Contractor Edition 2017 with Payroll Subscription. I cannot update my Payroll Tax Table within my current Quickbooks edition, as it needs Quickbooks 2018. HOW do I upgrade? I downloaded the 2018 version, entered my product number and license number, but it will not accept. I refuse to believe there isn't an easier way to handle this other than buying a whole new subscription....

The product and license codes will have to be from your purchase of QB 2018, to work with installing the new QB 2018. There is no Upgrade unless you have some sort of Lease or Subscription to QB desktop Program that provides for that path. Otherwise, this is a Purchase, and then an Update. Not an Upgrade process.

The Payroll Subscription doesn't control the Program.
