how to access Retained Earnings in Quickbooks Online?

I tried changing my entry from debiting Opening balance equity to debiting Retained Earnings but changed my mind and I can't access the RE account to revert back my entry. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

We can access your Retained Earnings in QuickBooks Online (QBO) from the Chart of Accounts, Rachel. I'll guide you through the process.

 

To start, log into your QuickBooks account and navigate to the Transactions menu. Follow the detailed steps below:

 

  1. From the Transactions page, choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the Retained Earnings account by entering it in the search bar.
  3. From the Action column, select Run report.


     
  4. Choose the Report period as All Dates and select Refresh report. You can further customize your report based on your preference. 

 

This will show any user-created transactions affecting the Retained Earnings account, allowing you to revert your entry if needed.
