The Standard user has  "ALL" Selected.  This gives access control to change account, change GST accounts, Payroll accounts GST rates etc.   How to restrict that access but still be able to process payroll run, print checks, run GST reports, and all relevant financial reports.

Hello analysis360,

Being able to control what your users can do and see in QuickBooks is important and I can see why the specifications you've mentioned would be helpful to you. I'm happy to explain how user accesses work in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online has a number of user types to choose from so you can give your team access to what they need to do. That being said, the sort of detailed restrictions you're looking for aren't something the program is capable of doing at this time. To learn about each of the user types and what they can do, I recommend taking a look at the following article: Learn about user types in QuickBooks Online

I encourage you to share your thoughts about this and what you're looking for through the Gear icon in the upper right of your account. Using the Feedback option, you'll be able to submit comments that go to the product development team for consideration in future updates. Knowing what we can do to enhance the product is important to us, so this is a great way to have your voice heard.

Let me know if you have further questions about this. I want to make sure we're on the same page with what the options are. Have a great rest of your day!

Respectfully. Even though WE are Canadian ProAdvisors, our suggestion (give feedback) is not tracked or responded to.  Even that would be a nice response to our feedback, as Will not do. or such is in development cycle for Feb 2021  etc. .  Distinct user controls - Meaning detail selections was a function promised at the Get Connected 2018 sessions.  Under the heading coming soon.  I t will be interesting to see where the improvement to user controls, ends up in the development cycle.  Thanks.
