A couple of weeks ago, I was able to log in without adding the sent code by QuickBooks and my bank accounts were updated every time I need it. Now I have to add the code every single time I log in. How to stop that?

Hello forestcitymicrog,

At QuickBooks, we're keen on protecting your account information, logins, and financial data. With options like two-step verification and other such measures, you can be sure what you share in the program is only being seen by authorized users. I can appreciate wanting to take that down a notch and turn of something like needing a code every single time you log in on your computer, and I'd be happy to help.

When logging into QuickBooks Online, the code that the program prompts for in addition to your login information is part of the two-step, or multi-factor authentication. If you'd like to turn that off, here's how you can do that.

  1. Go to accounts.intuit.com.
  2. Enter your QuickBooks Online login credentials.
  3. Choose Manage Sign In & Security.
  4. Select Two-Step Authentication.
  5. Click Turn off.
  6. Enter your password to confirm.

Now the program shouldn't prompt you to enter a code each time. Keep in mind, however, that QuickBooks Online will prompt you for a code each time regardless of this toggle in certain circumstances, such as after you've cleared your browser's cache or if you login on a new computer or with a new device. This is to ensure that it's really you trying to log back in.

If the two-step authentication is already off and you get prompted for the code each time, I recommend switching it on, then off again, then clearing your browser's cache. When you log back in for the first time afterward, you'll be asked for a code, but after that, you should be good to go.

I see you've mentioned your bank feed connections in here as well. If you mean that connection is also always asking for a code, I recommend checking with your bank's website to see if there's been any updates to the settings or a way you can turn that off. For that kind of thing, the bank handles those login credentials, so it's with them that you'll want to check on this.

Give me another shout here if you've any further questions. Have a great rest of your day.
