Hello darcy6,

Thanks for taking the time to share your concerns with us. I'm sad to hear that you're not looking to continue using QuickBooks Online past your trial, but I know that you need to make the best decision for your business. I'll go over with you how you can cancel your trial and shed some light on the credit review you saw.

With Intuit direct-billed subscriptions, continuing or cancelling the subscription is in your hands. What I mean is you have the option to change or cancel your billing right in your account. Here's how you can do that.

  1. Select the Gear icon in QuickBooks Online.
  2. Choose Account and settings.
  3. Select Billing & Subscription.
  4. Choose Cancel your trial.
  5. Follow the prompts to cancel.

The following article has a bit more information about cancelling so you'll know what happens to the data you entered: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription

I'd now like to address the credit check. Certain add-ons for QuickBooks Online, such as Payroll and Payments, will subject you to a credit check. If you signed up for either of those services during your trial, that would be why you received the review on your credit. I'll leave you with some documents that outline these things for both Payroll and Payments.

I encourage you to review those documents if you'd like to learn more about these items. To further discuss these concerns, you can reach out to support directly, where we can review your account details in a private conversation to ensure your personal data is secured.

I think it is ridiculous to expect customers to go through pages of fine print to know an important detail such as performing a hard credit inquiry.

You are not lending us money, for your purposes, a soft inquiry would have sufficed, but now your potential customer's  credit (because we are still in the trial period) has taken a credit hit. You'd expect a huge business such as Intuit would have a better way of informing their customers about this a hard inquiry before doing so.

To make matters worse, there is no good way for us to rectify this.

@sggl

You don't need to submit any payment credential when opening a trial account.
