I have purchased TurboTax self-employment and their was a promotion to receive Quickbooks self-employment for free for one year. My question is how do you get your free subscription?

When you sign up for the TurboTax Self-Employed and QuickBooks Self-Employed bundle, the free trial should be set up for you right away and uses your TurboTax login credentials for the account. Here's how you can test if that's the case for you.

  1. Go to qbo.ca.
  2. Hover over Sign In and choose QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  3. Enter your login details that you usually use for TurboTax Self-Employed.

This should get you into the account. If it doesn't, not to worry. Our QuickBooks Self-Employed team outside of this community forum can take it from here. Thanks for the reply Laura, but this isn’t helping me. 

I already have Quickbooks Online self-employment. I’m paying the monthly subscription fees. 

I recently purchased TurboTax self-employment and file my tax for 2020. The reason I purchased the self-employment version Vs the standard version, it’s because it offered one year of Quickbooks self-employment for free. Now that I have completed my purchase of TurboTax, how do I activate my free subscription of quickbooks? I phoned many Intuit department and no one could help me.

Thanks for those additional details. I see what's happened now and can explain. When you purchase the TurboTax and QuickBooks Self-Employed bundle, the period of QuickBooks Self-Employed for free applies to new accounts. If you wanted to create a new QuickBooks Self-Employed account, you'd be able to take advantage of this offer. Otherwise, your existing account doesn't qualify for it.
