I want to upgrade my account, but when I go to the account settings, there is no option for subscription s and billing?

Welcome to the QuickBooks community! It's great to have you with us and I'm excited to hear that you'd like to upgrade your version of QuickBooks Online. Hopefully that means business is doing well and you're looking to take advantage the next level's features. I'll help you figure this out.

 

It sounds like you've been looking at our Upgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription article, which is a great place to start! There are a couple of reasons why you wouldn't see the Billing & Subscription tab mentioned in step 2.

 

The first is that you're being billed through the Google or Apple app store. In these cases, you wouldn't see that tab and would instead need to go through your app store to see your billing. However, app store billing only has one package for QuickBooks Online. In order to upgrade in this situation, a QuickBooks Online support agent can lend a hand. I'll go over that in just a moment.

 

The second reason you wouldn't see the Billing & Subscription tab is because you're billed through an accountant user. If you're working with an accountant and are paying them directly for your billing, I recommend contacting them to ask about upgrading your subscription since they'll be the one with access to that feature.

 

If it turns out you're on app store billing, an agent can help you upgrade by switching you to Intuit's direct billing. This would also give you the option to upgrade, downgrade, and even switch to an annual billing plan.
