We wanted to help you out with this transition so you can get your accounts organized. Before anything else, can you please tell us if you are required to create new accounts and set of books separate from your sole proprietor account? Or do you only need to change your business information in Quickbooks? Any more details will help.

Before we start, it is best to consult an accounting professional to get the best advice on how to handle the transition. Here in this forum, we can only provide the steps you can do in QuickBooks, but handling your books is best assisted by your accountant.

In QuickBooks, if your accountant says you can use the same file, you can just change your business information from sole proprietor to LTD. Here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon, and choose Account and settings.
2. Click the Company tab.
3. From there, you can change your business numbers, tax forms and industry.
   

Then you can just manually edit the chart of accounts or create new registers moving forward. See this link to learn more: Add or edit your Chart of Accounts.

However, if you need to change everything, you can start a new account by purchasing another QBO company file. All you need to do is visit this site and choose the service you would like to use.
