Making Vendors inactive

If I make an old vendor inactive. Do I lose their account history information? And am I able to view their account at a later date in need be?

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  QuickBooks is a powerful program that helps you streamline your business. I'll be happy to share more information about making vendors inactive in QuickBooks Online.

 

Once you've made a vendor/supplier inactive, you'll still see the expenses beside their name although it will show them as (deleted).   Here's how to make them inactive:

 

1. Click on Expenses from the left menu and then Suppliers

2. Locate the supplier and checkmark the box to the left of the Supplier Name

3. Using the drop-down arrow on Batch Actions, choose Make Inactive

That's it!
