Hi there,

Connecting your bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online means that you'll save tons of time and effort with your business bookkeeping. Reconciliations will be so much simpler with the addition of your bank transactions and automatic uploads. I'd be happy to explain how you can update your password and what to do if it's too long for QBO to accept.

To update the password for your account in the bank feed, you'll click the pencil icon next to the account, then select Edit sign-in info. If you're updating the password and QBO prompts you that it's too long, you may have reached the digit limits in QBO. Typically, passwords up to 8-12 characters can be acceptable, however this may depend on the financial institution.

If you're being prompted that the password is too long, you'll have to update this on your online banking website. Once you've shortened the password, try updating it in QBO.

If you're still having issues with that after following these steps, please touch base with our tech support team directly. It's important that our agents can take a closer look at what may be happening here.

Take care.
