Unable to add account to chart of accounts, account type is greyed out and can't save.

New to Quickbooks and yet to find a solution after scouring the forums. As you can see in the photo, once I click "new" in chart of accounts to add an account, account type is greyed out. I can enter an account name, but can't save, and the account type dropdown doesn't function. I have QBO Simple Start--don't know if that's a contributing factor or not. Thank you in advance.

I noticed that you shared a similar concern about the option to add an account to the Chart of Accounts being greyed out in QuickBooks Online. My colleague already replied regarding this matter.
