I'm happy to help you log the manually paid local taxes in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @AngelaK21.

In QBO, you'll have to enter the manually paid local taxes as prior tax payments. I'll guide you on how:

  1. In your company file select the Taxes menu and click Payroll Tax.
  2. Then, go to the Payments tab.
  3. From there, select the Prior tax history option.
  4. Then, choose Add Payment (this is a non-posting transaction and won't affect the bank register, but it will clear the taxes from showing due and record the deposits).
  5. Next, select tax type and liability period then enter the payment date, check number, notes, and tax item amounts.
  6. Once done, select OK and you'll then be back to the Prior Tax Payments page.

For reference, check out this article: Recording prior tax payments.

Then, you may run a tax payment report to see all the tax payments you've made. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Taxes menu and select Payroll Tax.
  2. Next, from the Pay Taxes section, click the Payments history link.
  3. Then, you'll be routed to the Tax Payments screen.
  4. From there, click Run report.

I'd love to know updates on how the steps go. Please feel free to get back here if you have any follow-ups or want to share some information. I'm always around to lend a hand. Have a good one.
