Adding Accountant error message

I am attempting to add my accountant to our company for the 2024 tax season filing. When doing so I receive the error message

"You don’t have the right permissions to invite an accountant.
To invite an accountant, ask your admin to update your permissions.."
I am the only Admin on our account and have not had this error previously. After speaking with help desk over the last several days I am being told this is a know issue and its being worked on. Is there some sort of work around to adding someone on the accountant side as this delay is impacting my tax filing, and i have little confidence that it will be resolved timely.

Hello there, integritypartitions. You can temporarily assign your accountant the company admin role. I'm here to guide you through the process.

The company admin role grants access to every aspect of the QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. A user with this role can perform all tasks that the primary admin can, except for editing or removing the primary admin's access. It’s important to consider these permissions carefully before proceeding. For a detailed understanding of the roles and what access they entail, please refer to this article: User roles and access rights.

Here's how to add your accountant as a company admin:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Manage users.
  2. Select Add user. Input the user’s name and email address, ensuring to avoid special characters except for a period in the name and a period or the @ character in the email.
  3. From the Assign roles dropdown, select the admin role you wish to assign.
  4. Review the access permissions for this role; you can expand each section for more details.
  5. If applicable, adjust the Account management settings you want this role to manage.
  6. Click Send invite to finalize.

Please refer to this article for more details: Add and manage users.

Also, you can reach out to our support team for updates or check your email for the latest information on the progress.

Additionally, you can check the audit log to see the changes made to your company.
