Anyone else having an issue with reports? I get headers and footers, but the body of the report is blank.

We would like to thank you for coming to our Community space, @robertcoates.

We haven't received any investigations after the reports suddenly went blank, leaving only the footer and header visible.

When viewing the report in QuickBooks Online (QBO), I recommend checking if the browser you are using has a cache issue. Here's how:

Log into your account QuickBooks Online through a private or incognito window.

This browser window doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to find out if there's an issue with the browser.

The first step is accessing QuickBooks Online through the private or incognito window.

Let's use these shortcut keys to get started:

  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Safari Browser: Command + Shift + N

If it works, return to your regular browser and clear its cache. If not, use other supported web browsers. The current one you're using may have a temporary issue with QuickBooks. Utilizing a new browser allows you to get back to working order.

If you continue to encounter this issue, I suggest exporting the reports to Excel or downloading them as a PDF files.

Also, I've included this article if you have plans on customizing your reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Keep us posted if the issue remains or if there are other concerns. Have a good day!

Hi - I am having the same issue. So far, cleared the cache, tried Incognito, reinstalled Adobe, cleared browser history, restarted everything, test printed other .pdfs not generated by QBO (these print correctly), exported to pdf, all QBO reports are blank, no data, just header and divider lines. Running on Mac, latest version of OS and Safari browser. Printer driver is current. Report worked earlier this week. Any ideas are appreciated.

Having the same issue when printing from my MacBook.  Headers and footers with no content.

I appreciate you for joining this thread and letting us know your experience when printing reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @rneisz. I have information available on why some users experiencing the same issue.

This concern has been determined to have stemmed from the newest Apple Operating System (OS) release which is Sonoma and is impacting the Mac Preview application. Having said that, this happens only when the user tries to print a document using the Mac Preview application.

There are early indications that Apple is going to address this in the upcoming updates to Mac OS. That said, you’ll want to keep your OS updated to the latest version to receive the latest fixes on your device.

In the meantime, we can follow certain workarounds to turn around your experience and be able to produce reports from QBO. To do that, we can export your report into an Excel file or have it downloaded as a PDF and print it from Adobe rather than from your default browser.

To begin, let’s pull up the report using the steps below:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and locate the specific reports you want to print.
  2. You can click the Customize button to add columns you may want to see on your report.
  3. Then, click Run Report.

After that, export the report to get a copy of it:

  1. In the report window, click the Export icon.
  2. Select Export to Excel or Export to PDF.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish.

Moreover, I've added an article that'll help you customize, also save the current customization setting of your reports to prevent you from personalizing it again:

Hi All,

I had this issue as well. The most recent update from Apple Sonoma 14.1.2 (23B92) fixes the issue. My QBO reports are working fine now. I don't like the numbers they show, but that's a different story.;)
