Audit Log - Everyone in My Firm is Under My Name

Up until last week, I could see audit logs for each individual in my firm.  Today, I noticed that everyone in my firm shows up as me in the audit log. I submitted feedback for this to be fixed.  If it's not fixed, I might as well give everyone my username and password because the audit trail will be useless. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Thanks for visiting us today, Coldham. I'm here to provide some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue where the audit log feature isn't working well in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Sometimes, local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product. This can be the reason why the audit log is not working correctly.

If you haven't already, we can try accessing your account in a private window to rectify this issue. The private window will not save any history, making it a good place to identify browser problems. You can access this by pressing the following keys:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once you're in incognito mode, go to the audit log and see if it is showing correctly. If everything works fine using a private window, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Technical Support Team since they're equipped with the necessary tools to perform a screen-sharing session to conduct further investigation into this behavior.

Furthermore, you can visit this article to learn more about tailoring your reports, displaying particular accounts or customers, and configuring the layout for precise data placement: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Please touch base with me here if you have other questions or concerns about reviewing your audit log reports. I'll be around to help you in any way I can. Stay safe!

My issue was fixed after I sent feedback within the application. The instructions that were provided here did not fix my issue and were unhelpful.

Businesses rely on Qbo for managing their financial records and for them to accurately reflect what they input.  Were the instructions given above implying that a browser could alter financial data or the audit trail?
