[BUG] Transactions and Receipts Data Lost After Upgrading from QB Self-employed Online to QB Solopreneur Online

I am about to start filing my taxes today and I saw that Intuit is promoting Solopreneur Online that has better turbo tax exporting support. So I did the upgrade.

And I was asked to enter firm info, and it showed me a dashboard that only contains data from the last 12 months, without any receipts I attached to.

All other data including receipts scanned are lost. This is a huge breach of my trust and waste much of my time.

Please esculate this to your leadership and engineering team.

Thank you,

Sabi

I truly empathize with your situation, especially since this data is crucial for filing taxes. Please know that I value your time and want to assist you in resolving the lost transactions and receipts so you can proceed with the filing process as smoothly as possible, Sabiiii.

When transitioning from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to QuickBooks Solopreneur, it's important to note that Customers, Invoices, Trips, Products and Services, Bank Connections, Transactions, and Receipts are automatically migrated to ensure a seamless experience.

For more details about the migration process from QBSE to QB Solopreneur, including what data can't be switched over, please refer to this article: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Solopreneur.

However, if you've followed all the steps and ensure you've downloaded and saved your reports and accounting information before upgrading to QB Solopreneur, but some data are lost, I recommend contacting our Live Support Team. They possess the necessary tools to securely access your account and further investigate why certain data was not automatically transferred. Here's how:

  1. Open your QB account.
  2. Click Help.
  3. Select the Search tab and enter a keyword related to your concern.
  4. Hit the Contact Us button.
  5. Choose a way to connect.

Additionally, I'll share this resource to aid you in filing your taxes in QB Solopreneur: Get ready to file taxes on self-employed income in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Solopreneur.

Thank you for your prompt response. However this does not solve the missing data issue.

As you linked in this post, this is not true for my case hence it has to be a bug. Please esculate to your tech team as I saw a couple of other posts with the similar concerns.

The following data automatically migrates when you switch to QuickBooks Solopreneur:

  • Customers
  • Invoices
  • Trips
  • Product and Services
  • Bank Connections
  • Transactions
  • Receipts
