Question

Can I create a report that shows credit card expenses that are either billable or not billable?

We need to know what portion of our credit bill is billable.  When I pull an unbilled expenses report, there is no way to filter by credit card charges.  Our cc charges come in through a third party software. I can no longer produce a pnl that is billable and unbilled.  Really miss that.    Is there any way to create this report?

Yes, you can, Suzanne.

I recommend pulling up the Transaction List with Splits report. Then, customize it to see whether the credit card expenses are billable or not

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Report tab.
  2. In the Find report by name bar, type in Transaction List with Splits. Then, click it.
  3. On the report page, click Customize.
  4. On the Row/Columns, select Change columns, then put a checkmark beside Billable.
  5. Click on Filter, then choose Credit Card Expense as a Transaction Type.
  6. Select Run report.

The billable entry has Yes beside it, while the not billable is empty. For visual reference, I've added a screenshot below.

Also, you'll want to export the data to Excel so you can personalize the data according to your liking.

Finally, I'm attaching these resources to help you utilize the Billable feature in QuickBooks Online and help you record, edit, and delete expenses to ensure your books remain accurate:
