Hi truckingwithgeor!

I can help you in uploading a receipt in QuickBooks Online.

When you capture a receipt and upload it, QuickBooks Online will extract its data to create an expense or bill transaction. This is the reason why it'll require you to select an expense account to track it.

If the purpose of taking a picture of the receipt is to attach it to the existing transaction in QuickBooks Online, you can simply match them. This way, you don't need to select an account and won't create a duplicate entry.

You can find more info as well as steps on what to do after you took a picture of the receipt or bill: Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Also, there are different expense reports in QuickBooks Online. You can customize them to get the right data that you need. If you subscribed to QuickBooks Online Advanced, you can create or build custom reports.

These are the links you can check to see the available reports in QuickBooks Online and how to run them:

Lastly, I added this article if you need help in setting up your inventory: Set up and track your inventory in QuickBooks Online.

I'm here to help you if you have additional questions. Have a great day!
