Do I use auto backup or manual? What is incremental mean as a type in backup?

I'll share some information about backing up and restoring company files in QuickBooks Online.

 

Before we start, may I know your current QuickBooks Online Subscription? Since Back up and restore company file is only available in QuickBooks Online Advanced subscription.

 

When you enable the Online Back-up & Restore app function, QuickBooks automatically backs up your data whenever you make changes to your company data. Then, you may always restore a backup at any point in time. This is useful if you make modifications today and discover that something is off. If you want to enter the data once more, you can restore the previous backup.

 

On the other hand, you can create a manual backup to save a copy of your company data.

 

Follow these steps to turn on the Online Backup $ Restore app feature:

 

  1. Go to Settings .
  2. Select Back up company.

 

These are the steps to create a manual or one-time backup:

 

  1. Go to Settings .
  2. Select Back up company.
  3. Note: You might need to sign in with Intuit account, then select Authorize to proceed.
  4. Click Add Company.
  5. Hit the Search for a company ▼ dropdown menu, then select the company you want to back up.
  6. Select Next, then Connect.
  7. Click the Action ▼ dropdown menu, then select Run full backup.

 

Here's how to restore the backup:

 

  1. Go to Settings , then select Back up company.
  2. Find the company you want to restore a back of.
  3. From the Action ▼ dropdown menu, click Restore.
  4. From the Date field, select the date you want to restore.
  5. From the Time ▼ dropdown menu, select the time you want to restore.
  6. From the Ready to restore your backup? section, enter "AGREE".
  7. Hit Next. If you see a list of recommended actions, follow them first. After you finish everything on the list, select Refresh to continue.
  8. Click Start Restore.
