Question

Can I select PDF as the report type when scheduling workflow for emailing an automatic custom report? It currently sends excel file which is not the same report.

I see where I can export to PDF when I'm manually generating the custom report.  I don't see any option to select file type when setting up the scheduled workflow to email the report.  My custom report doesn't send the same data when it is excel vs pdf.  So the excel default that is sent in the automatic email workflow is not correct.  Only the PDF type captures all the line items for my custom report.  An alternative would be to fix the excel version to actually capture all the line items so that it reports the same data as the PDF does.

I can see how the feature you're looking for would benefit and empower your business, @brianh2. Let me share some updates about using the PDF feature for sending automatic emails in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

First off, may I know what specific issue you are encountering with using Excel, why the Excel default that is sent in the automatic email workflow is not correct as what you mentioned? Any screenshots or further details will be much appreciated.

For now, since the PDF feature is unavailable when scheduling workflow for emailing and automatic custom reports. With this, I highly recommend providing direct feedback to our product engineers as we value your input, which contributes to shaping future updates:
