You'll need a social security number to set up QuickBooks Payments, @Dietz. I understand you're from Germany, so I've got a workaround for you.

A Taxpayer Identification Number or Social Security Number must be kept on file under IRS regulations. All transactions made using credit cards and third-party networks must be reported to the IRS.

Since you're from Germany, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Payments Support. They can offer suggestions and guidance on how you can proceed with setting up your payment account.

If you're unable to do so, you can use a third-party payment application. From there, you can compare and read other users' comments about the app. Go to this link to choose which one best suits your needs: QuickBooks Apps.

To learn more about QuickBooks Payments, check out this article: Connect your QuickBooks Payments account to QuickBooks Online. This will walk you through the process of linking your payment account to QuickBooks Online. This includes a link to the page where you can manage your merchant transactions.

Please post a reply below if you have other concerns with your QuickBooks Online. I'll be more than happy to assist you again. Have a great day, and take care always.
