Question

Can someone tell me? I have 4 checking accounts all set up separately in The Chart of Accounts. How do I run independent reports on each one?

Hi, thanks for posting your concern here.

You can use the Transaction Detail by Account report to run each checking account. Let's go over some details to help you achieve the task in QuickBooks.

This report is currently available in the QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions. It's specifically located under the For my accountant section in the Reports menu. For the detailed process, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. From the search bar, type in Transaction Detail by Account.
  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. Scroll down to Filter the transactions and select the specific Account you want from the dropdown.

  5. Click on Run report.

You can also run these reports directly from your Chart of Accounts. I'll guide you on how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu, then Chart of Accounts.
  2. Choose a specific account.
  3. Select Run report from the Action dropdown.

To learn more on how to personalize reports, kindly visit: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

You can also choose to memorize your report to save your customization.
