Question

Can't get Deposit Tickets to align in QB Online.

Using QB Online and QB supplied Deposit Tickets I can't get them to align properly. In fact, the alignment tool seems to have the opposite effect that it is supposed to and even taking that into account they won't align.

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community, WRG45.

Let's make sure that we've updated and defaulted the adobe reader setup. Let me show you how:

  1. Select the on-screen link to download the latest version of Adobe Reader.
  2. Set Adobe Reader as your default PDF viewer.
You can select the on-screen link for information about setting a default PDF viewer.
  3. Select View preview and print sample and select Print.
  4. Compare the print to the pre-printed form and select Yes, I'm finished with setup if the information lines up with the form.
If not, select No, continue setup.

If your printed page is still not aligned with your pre-printed form, the next step is to fine-tune the alignment of your printed page.

For more information about printing deposit slips in QBO, you can check this article: How to set up and print deposit slips

That's it! Give this a try and let me know how it goes by leaving a comment below. Please know that I'm only a post away if you have any follow-up questions. Wishing you and your business continued success.

This didn't help.  I had already tried everything in that response.

I can't get this to work either. I'm using the current version of QBO and Adobe and working on a MAC. I have tried at least 100 times to get the deposit slips to line up and currently, half off the page. The little alignment grid is garbage - no matter where I move it, the print sample looks THE SAME. I have $100 in deposit slips that I can't use, and I'm still HANDWRITING MY DEPOSITS after spending HOURS trying to fix this.

I'll make this up for you, @jlm7.

First off, I'd like to appreciate you for adding a screenshot. It gives me a visual presentation of your concerns.

Have you tried printing other forms rather than deposits? If not, I'd recommend doing so. This way, we'll be able to determine if it has something to do with the deposit forms only or all forms.

If you weren't able to print other forms, it may be caused by your print setting. With this, I'd recommend configuring your printing settings to isolate the issue. However, if you can print other forms rather than deposits, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Care Support. This way, they'll be able to perform a screen sharing to look at the root cause of this behavior and provide you with a permanent fix so you can seamlessly print your deposits.

Here's how to contact support in case you needed the steps:

  1. Go to the Help icon and select Contact us in the Search tab.
  2. From the What can we help you with field, enter your question.
  3. Click on Continue.
  4. Choose either Appointment, Callback, or Chat.

My Intuit purchased checks don't print properly either. I can only print 2 on a page - the 3rd is worthless. I no longer use any other pre-printed forms so can't speak to that.

I agree with @jlm7 no matter how much I move the grid, nothiung changes on the form.

Has this been fixed yet?! I spent $100+ on Deposit slips in hopes that it would save me so much time when doing deposits, but it has been nothing but a waste of paper trying to get the alignment right and a waste of money for forms that I cant even use!!!!

This still isn't fixed. I am on the incident list and get an update every so often that it is still not fixed. I do not understand why something so basic and fundamental to everyone's business is not being fixed. I am hand writing my deposit slips after years of using the alignment function just fine (though it was always backwards and not easy to work with).  This has been broken for way too long.

August 30, 2023

Hi there, @Alicat.

I appreciate you bringing to our attention the broken alignment function in this thread. It's frustrating to pay for software that's supposed to help with deposit slip alignment, only to write it out by hand. I'll share some news about this matter to ensure you get what you paid for.

There's an ongoing investigation (INV-83647) about having changes when using the Deposit Slip alignment fine-tuning. Kindly contact our Support Team for some updates and fixes.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon and choose Search.
  2. Click the Contact Us button and enter your concern.
  3. Press Continue.

Please note our operating hours so you can contact us timely. For other ways to reach us, refer to this article: QuickBooks Online Support.

Once everything is settled, you can review your system to ensure printing deposit slips accurately. Create a sample to see how it would look on the form.

Our Engineering Team is working diligently to fix this issue as soon as possible. For any other deposit concerns, add them in the comment section below. It'll be my pleasure to help you further.

Four years later, Quickbooks still hasn't fixed this problem. Despite their boilerplate statements that they care and are working diligently on it, taking four years to fix the issue is all the evidence you need to determine that, no, they do not.

Yes, I've contacted support.
