I can help you manage your Chart of Accounts, specialtyfencing.

Yes, you can change, edit, or inactivate an account from the Chart of Accounts page. I'd like to verify first if you received an error when you tried to edit the Income account so I can walk you through from there.

Changing the type or detail type of account may affect your books. You might want to consult an accountant before you do so. Once you're ready to make the changes, here's how to edit an account:

  1. Go to Accounting from the left menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Look for the account to edit and click the drop-down arrow beside View register
  3. Select Edit
  4. Make the changes and then click Save and Close
  5. Read the prompts and click Yes to confirm.

When you run reports, you have the option to customize it and exclude an account you don't want to appear on the list. I'll show you how to do that and I'll use the Profit and Loss report as an example.

  1. Click Reports from the left menu.
  2. Select Profit and Loss.
  3. At the upper-right, click Customize.
  4. Under the Filter option, check the Distribution Account box.
  5. From the Distribution Account drop-down, look for the account to exclude from the report. Then, uncheck it.
  6. Click Run report to display updates.
