Can you delete a company

Hello, @darongreen0.

 

You'll have the option to delete or remove the company from the Company List.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Click Close Company.
  3. Select the Edit List button.
  4. Put a check-mark next to the company file you want to delete.
  5. Hit OK.

I have the same question. My situation is similar to this question from @KD8, but I don't need to transfer data: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/account-management/delete-unused-company/00/153905

 

My old company has been archived and is scheduled for deletion in December 2020.

 

I am on Quickbooks online, and do not have a "File" menu.

 

I have run the purge command on it, but I actually want it GONE. How can we delete this OLD, unused company from my "Please select the company you want to open" page? It appears to be causing issues with my mobile app. I'd like to get the mobile app installed before December!

Let me share some insights about what happens to the QuickBooks Online (QBO) account after canceling or purging the data.

 

When you cancel your QBO account, you have the read-only access to your data for one year after the cancellation date. This is the reason why your company file is still available under the Please select the company you want to open window.

 

The account will automatically be deleted or removed from after the scheduled deletion showing up on your screen (December 2020).
