Question

Cannot add accountant, button does not work

I need to add a bookkeeper with Accountant access. Our CPA has access as one user and the green "Invite" button is not active and will not allow me to invite a 2nd user. The screenshot below shows only 1 of 2 accounting firms added.

We used to have Quickbooks Live for bookkeeping. They were set up as a User and not an Accountant. Not sure if this is causing some issue. I've logged out, tried in Incognito mode, cleared the cache. All suggestions from Support. Please help if you can.

I understand that the software needs to accommodate your business needs, Chet, especially in adding a bookkeeper to your QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I'm here to give updates on the issue of the greyed-out Invite button when sending an invite to your bookkeeper's email.

In QBO, you can usually add up to two accounting firms to manage your books, and the Invite button being inactive or greyed out is an ongoing issue our product engineers are aware of and are working on resolving. Although there's no specific time frame for the fix, I'd encourage contacting our Support Team to add you to the list of affected users and be updated once resolved. Here's how:

1. In your QBO account, go to Help (?).

2. Select either of these tabs:

  • Assistant tab and type Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact us to connect with a support expert.

3. Choose how you want to reach us (phone or chat).

For future reference, I'm adding this article as a guide on accountant tools and programs your accountant can utilize: Use accountant tools and features in QuickBooks Online Accountant

You're always welcome in the Community if you need further updates about the issue of the inactive Invite button in QBO. We'll do our best to assist.
